The Association of Nigerians in the Capital District, through its subsidiary, ANCD Foundation, Inc. awards annual $500 scholarships to high school graduating seniors with plans to attend college in memory of its members, Mrs. Gladys Okwesili and Dr. Tony Clement, both of whom were distinguished educators. Selection is based on high school academic performance, community service, quality of essay, and required recommendations. ANCD scholarships aims to award and acknowledge financially disadvantaged and underserved students from the Capital District who are committed to the values of scholarship and improving the lives of others in the community.
