Investing in the Next Generation of Leaders

Each year, the Association of Nigerians in the Capital District (ANCD), through its subsidiary ANCD Foundation, Inc., proudly presents its Annual Scholarship Awards to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to community service.

The Annual Scholarship Awards recognize students who exemplify the values of scholarship, integrity, service, and community impact while preparing to pursue higher education.

Established in honor of distinguished educators and community advocates, Mrs. Gladys Okwesili and Dr. Tony Clement, the awards program reflects ANCD’s ongoing commitment to empowering future generations through education and opportunity.

About the Annual Scholarship Awards

The ANCD Annual Scholarship Awards Program was created to support deserving students from New York’s Capital District who are preparing to attend college and pursue their academic and professional goals.

Each year, selected recipients receive scholarship assistance in recognition of:

  • Academic achievement
  • Leadership potential
  • Community involvement
  • Personal character
  • Commitment to service

The program also aims to recognize financially disadvantaged and underserved students who are dedicated to improving the lives of others within their communities.
