Leke Osipitan, Vice President
Dr. ‘Leke Osipitan is the current Vice President of the Association of Nigerians in the Capital District of New York (ANCD). He is contributing meaningfully towards the growth of the association. He was the Secretary of the association for six years before elected into his current position in February 2016. Osipitan had previously worked for the National Directorate of Employment in Lagos State, Nigeria between 1990 and 1999 where he was a Senior Public Works Officer, before migrating into United States of America.
Dr. Osipitan joined the New York State Department of Transportation, Albany, New York in 2000. He is currently an Intermodal Transportation Specialist with the New York State Department of Transportation. He attended Yaba College of Technology, Lagos for undergraduate studies in Quantity Surveying. He further attended Ogun State University (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria and obtained M.Sc degree in Transport Studies. He also attended University at Albany, State University of New York and obtained MRP degree in Urban and Regional Planning, as well as MA degree in Geography from the same University.
Dr. Osipitan obtained his Ph.D. in Technology Management, specializing in Construction Management from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and Professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He was a recipient of Henry Spurrier scholarship awarded by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, United Kingdom as well as AITE Scholarship awarded by the University Transportation Center, Region II, New York. He is married with children.
